Why Men’s Health Care Matters

Men are less likely than women to schedule routine check-ups and more likely to delay care for symptoms. Yet many leading health risks for men, including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and prostate and colorectal cancer, can be detected early and managed effectively with regular screenings. A trusted primary care doctor helps you stay ahead of these risks at every stage of life.

Men’s Health Services We Offer

Annual Physicals for Men

A comprehensive men’s physical includes a full exam, vital signs, weight and BMI, lab work, and a review of lifestyle, family history, and risk factors, giving you a clear picture of your health each year.

Prostate Health & Screening

We discuss prostate cancer screening, including PSA blood testing, based on your age and risk, and evaluate urinary symptoms such as frequent urination or weak flow that may signal an enlarged prostate (BPH).

Low Testosterone Evaluation

Fatigue, low energy, reduced sex drive, mood changes, and loss of muscle mass may be linked to low testosterone. Our providers evaluate symptoms, order lab testing, and discuss treatment options when appropriate.

Erectile Dysfunction Treatment

Erectile dysfunction is common and often treatable, and it can be an early sign of heart disease or diabetes. We provide confidential evaluation, identify underlying causes, and recommend effective treatment.

Heart Health & Cardiovascular Screening

Blood pressure checks, cholesterol panels, EKGs, and risk assessments help detect heart disease early. We create personalized plans to lower your risk through lifestyle changes and medication when needed.

Diabetes & Metabolic Health

Screening for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes with A1C and glucose testing, plus ongoing management for men already living with diabetes.

Cancer Screenings

Guidance and referrals for colorectal cancer screening (starting at age 45), prostate cancer screening, skin cancer checks, and lung cancer screening for eligible current or former smokers.

Weight Management

Medically guided weight management plans that address nutrition, activity, and related conditions like high blood pressure and sleep apnea.

Mental Health & Stress

Stress, anxiety, depression, and sleep problems often go unaddressed in men. We offer a safe space to talk, screen for common conditions, and connect you with treatment or referrals.

We are thrilled with our first visit here. Everything moved very quickly and efficiently, as they seem to have a very effective team of employees. The appointment lasted approximately 1 hour, and that included new patient intake forms, vitals, seeing the doctor and getting labs done. I love how fast the process went, while also feeling seen, heard and feeling like our concerns were valid and taken seriously. The receptionists were all very friendly, inviting and helpful, including Delilah, who checked us out and set our next appointment. Finding a new primary care provider can be quite overwhelming and time consuming, but not here, and the services offered go above and beyond anything we expected. We look forward to future visits with this practice.

I’ve had a great experience with Alamo Primary Care. Everyone in the office has always been friendly, welcoming, and willing to help. The front desk ladies are always kind and make everything easy, whether it’s scheduling appointments or answering questions. The doctor takes the time to listen and explain things without making you feel rushed, and the PA has been just as helpful and knowledgeable. It’s nice to go to a doctor’s office where you feel like they actually care about their patients. Highly recommend!

This was my first time at this location and I was pleasantly surprised at every turn of this appointment. The front staff were incredibly welcoming and equally as funny. I’m a nervous talker so they humored me and it helped me calm down a lot. The doctor was punctual and very thorough for a first time visit which was a pleasant surprise. He had several follow up questions about each of my concerns and gathered more information as well as educated me more than any physician I’ve seen on a first visit. Excellent first impression and visit.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Vishal. From the moment I walked in, I felt comfortable from the check in with the ladies up front to the medical assistants in the back! He talked to me, not at me. He listened to my concerns, asked thoughtful questions, and made me feel validated. He came highly recommended and I never felt one ounce of regret. It’s such a relief to finally have a primary care doctor who makes you feel seen and heard. 10/10 recommend!
